Input device SHUTUP!

Hi folks, still very new to SONAR as I used to work on other software.

I've found that if I have an input source selected for certain tracks/channels (as in the console view), I can often change them to "NONE", but, after saving, closing, starting up tomorrow again, the input devices are back in use!  How can I MAKE a channel stay on NONE for input once I'm not recording on it anymore?
There are some of my songs that I'm working on, where I have to switch off my speakers when opening it, or I have to switch off my ULTRAVOICE unit (which has my main vocal mic connected and ready) so that the system doesn't start feeding back before I can click on the eight or ten tracks that are now "open/active/on/live".  See, I record, say , 4 to 6 vocal tracks (lead vox, altos, tenors etc), then I record acoustic guitars, BUT, I use the same mic for this, as I love the sound it has on the acoustics.  This mic is plugged in to my Behringer ULTRAVOICE unit, which obviously deals with compression and the like.
Thus, when recording, I select that as an input for channel 1 (as example), and record a vocal track.  I then switch channel (track) 1's input to NONE, and select the ULTRAVOICE input again as the input for channel (track?) two, since I'm going to be using the exact same mic, only some settings change as the next vocalist records their part.  So I continue through all vocals, for example.  Now the acoustic guitarist sits down and we setup the mic, get everything ready, and ALL PREVIOUSLY RECORDED CHANNELS ARE SET TO INPUT NONE, while this new acoustic track is set to input from ULTRAVOICE.
You get the picture.
I save the session, but next time I open it...ALL OF THESE CHANNELS ARE SET TO INPUT FROM THE ULTRAVOICE, so the "input" is compounded about 8 to 12 times, and the speakers literally start feeding back via the mic when the booth's door is open!
Please, how do you make a channel "FORGET" its previous input selection?
Cheers all

Ok, cool, will that just stop the input-echo, or will that then also "remember" the NONE setting?

It does nothing WRT the input setting. The input setting is not your problem.
