I'm outside US as well..just bought, no problem. Thanks, djjhart for the link ! After buying, sweetwater will email you just the serial number (no sofware). You have to register it at www.zplane.de, and they will send you a latest download (version seems to be the same, but the download file is just a little larger, without the 'demo' in the file name :). You will like this one.

I'll take another look, given the low price, but the last time I checked out this product I was not impressed with the sound quality of the generated harmonies. It sounded a lot like my VoiceLive stompbox, which does just fine for live use but is unusable in the studio.

This works for me : 1) record an audio track (must be single voice). 2) insert vielklang as soft synt. 3) drag the audio track into vielklang. 4) press play. Also, I install only the 64 bit vst ( no 32 bit, no rtas ).

I plan on using it for generating horn harmonies...then tweaking and exporting that as midi...then replacing the generated harmony parts with other sampled horns. Everything else is just gravy. I'm sure I'll use it sparingly as a vocal harmonizer but that's not my intended use. The particular demo that hooked me was the last bit of the "Summertime" sax solo where they used one of the "gypsy" scales...I've got a project that will be perfect for. And, yes, I can and do write and play all my harmony parts in on most stuff...but, as you are well aware....I am one lazy sum****.

carl I just briefly tried the demo & had to start playback from beginning of project to hear it in real time. You can set it were you want the harmony to begin by adjusting the Host plugin offset to the time you want the harmonies to start, All You Have to do is click the clip you want to harmonize and then click the set button in Vielkang.. Also you can click the midi tab and hear the harmonies via the key board , Note you must create a midi track and route the out put the Vielkang, .

Hey djjhart...or anyone else who has VielKlang. When I try to authorize my VST inside Sonar...even if I have the "give all keystrokes to plugin" enabled...I can't enter any text into the serial or keylock boxes...even using paste...it just triggers things in Sonar Exp. How can I authorize??

Hey ol pal - I couldn't paste into the boxes - but I could type. I literally pulled up the email with the unlock code, memorized a short string of characters, then typed them into the box in the authorization window, then opened the email to check, then moved on, etc etc. real pain but hopefully only have to do it once. Weird though because I didn't have to go through this for elastique which I picked up a couple of weeks ago from the same developer. Hope this helps.

Thinking about it some more - if you can't even type into the box - this may be helped in my case by wiz mouse -( a freeware mouse utility which grabs focuse in windows)- which was recommended by Randy Bowser a few times for variou focus issues and mouse scrolling issues in Sonar - I have honestly lost track of the many ways that wiz mouse has benefited sonar functionality......

Well thanks for gettin back to me...I finally was able to authorize it by...no joke...using a combination of my numberpad and switching back and forth for almost every other letter between using "shift letter" and caps-lock. It was weird to say the least but in the end I got-er-done. Looking forward to puttin this interesting piece of kit through it's paces. I'll grab "wiz mouse" while I'm at it for future problems like this. Thanks for the heads up, ol pal!

Yup, I know...the depths of my laziness are almost unfathomable. But I'll hip ya to the truth if ya won't tell no one. Used to be, a few years ago, when my business was...ah...runnin and gunnin, I did a pretty good trade in "needledrop" music sales from both my licensed libraries (Network, DeWolfe, Killer Tracks, etc) and my own proprietary library. We made spots and people wanted music on em...and that's how they got it. But now that the apocalyptic end times is on us ain't no one buyin "needledrop" music anymore. They either get it off the web for ridiculously low prices that none of us brick and mortar guys can compete with (although why they'd want it is a mystery to me...it's usually pretty crappy and there is no exclusivity to its use whatsoever) OR they want me to run them up a custom bed. That used to mean I had at least a day in the studio to produce out whatever they wanted. Ha Ha...jokes on me. Now they want me to run it up right there on the spot in 15 or 20 minutes and put in custom hits and cues to boot and then charge em "needledrop" prices. I ain't kiddin. And, of course, with the technology at my disposal (my Spectrasonics stuff comes to mind) I can do it. But I need all the trickery and tomfoolery I can get my hands on to do it with in such short time frames. That's where something like ol Vielklang (which actually means "many sounds") comes in. If, for $45 semolians, it helps me arrange at least two spots...it's paid for. And I've already got one it's perfect for...they want a Django/Gypsy feel. Play a single sax line in...let ol Vielklang harmonize it...Done. At least I hope it works as advertised. We'll see. I actually see some other unconventional uses for it...I'll keep ya posted. But listen, just between me and you and the bedpost, don't let them other fellas know I ain't the biggest sloth on planet earth. I got a reputation to live down to:-)

Since there seems to be some "secrets" in how some people are using this, I'd like to know how ya'll really use it and what your impressions are using it on vocals & non-vocal tracks (especially midi)? (I heard myolpal got it and I think he said he was planning on writing a full Big-Band Swing-a-ma-thing-a-ma-jiggy orchestra with it, but that's supposed to be on the DL).

I downloaded the demo and had a play last night. I thought the simple harmonies (2 part) sounded pretty good and would be a great way to quickly 'pretty up' a bridge or chorus. However, I couldn't get the thing to sync up to my project. I dropped the vocal part into Vieklang (horrible name) and started from the top of the song and the original vocal and the harmony kept starting too early. I tried messing around with the offset etc and couldn't get it to line up. Any tips?
