In the 60's, when times was hard, Bert Janchz (sp?) the great Scottish songwriter/guitarist, showed me how he weaved a strip of paper under and over his strings, right up against the bridge of his acoustic to produce a fuzz box effect . This was before he could afford to tear up 10£ notes.

had a client come in yesterday and he folded a twenty in half and drapped it over his A string on his acoustic. Kinda sounded scritchy and scratchy when he strummed the guitar. Weird. oh btw - a one dollar bill will work too but not for live gigs. Chicks will only think it's cool if you use a twenty or up

Go to the supermarket and buy some of those 10" wooden skewers and rubber band a wad of them together. They make a weird sounding drum stick.

I've heard of a technique ( though never tried it ) of taping a sm-58.. ala Roger Daltry : and swinging it in a circle between two guitarists cabinets while tracking live... you'd get wacky delay and doppler effects plus huge panning information. Hell who knows.
