Insert a specific FX across multiple tracks using Quick Groups

I am frantically trying to remember SONAR X series techniques because I haven't worked in it for quite a while.  I'm in process of setting up my master template and I can't remember how to do a particular technique and I'm not sure if it is possible or not.

I am trying to load the Slate Virtual Mix Rack across multiple tracks.  I would think that I would select my series of tracks by clicking the track number rectangle on my console and then shift + clicking the last track number in the series to select all tracks between the two of them.  Then I would hold the Ctrl key and click on the INSERT AUDIO FX option and mouse to the FX I wanted and click on it.  That should add that particular FX into my inserts on each track I have pre selected.

Doesn't seem to work like that even though Ctrl + commands seem to work on everything else I tried.

Yeah sadly I think this only works in the Prochannel IIRC but not in the general case. I've been meaning to add that - it shouldn't be too hard. If you remind me enough it might get done sometime. Maybe even as a membership featurette!

Until then CTRL+drag and drop will copy a plug-in from rack to rack. At least it is faster than doing each insert.

This is true and that's been my workaround.

+1 for this feature I always did wonder why it worked in PC but not in the mixer, would be sweet!

I think the key is to always have the improvement of the product as your main goal.

One thing about being a journeyman sort of guy, is that I have seen and worked in various DAW environments in the last few years.  I'm sure it's a bit like the early explorers like Marco Polo when he saw the wonders of the far east and brought back his impressions of innovations of new cultures.

Learning new techniques has expanded the way I approach SONAR workflow now.

I'll bug you for that, too, if it'll help.
