Inserting MIDI Mod Messages

So in my X1 project, I have a MIDI track that I record to using my controller.  The mod wheel's position gets recorded, but I end up with several MIDI messages for bunches of unneeded mod wheel positions. I end up having to delete them all and change the time of the one I am interested in. There has got to be a better way to do this.

What I want to do is inert a MIDI modulation message at a specific point in a track. The mod message value will be either 127 or 0. How would I do such a thing?

TIA

If I were going to do that I would use the PRV and draw in the controllers I want. How are you removing the unwanted Mod events? Are you already using the PRV or are you deleting/editing them in the Event List View?

Yes -- I have been using the Event List View to remove the unneeded mod wheel messages and edit the start times of the mod 127 and 0 messages.

What I actually did to resolve this was record a single mesaure of the mod wheel going from min to max.  After doing this, I deleted all messages except for 127 and 0 in the Event List View. Next, I copied the 127 and 0 messages to the appropriate spot in my track, which created new layers. Finally, I bounced the layers into a single layer.

Seems like a lot of work to do something that should be simple though.

I will look into PRV to draw a mod message of 0 and 127.  Hopefully this is simpler.

    Thank you.

No problem. I know from experience how UN-intuitive controller management in the PRV can seem until you get the hang of it.
