Inserting track template causes playback delay

inserting track template causes 1-2 sec playback delay. Try this:

open a project with several tracks, after inserting the track template,
hit play, hit stop,  go back 1 bar or so - 2 sec delay in going back 1 bar. After that it will play. Until yo hit stop and go back a bar or so and hit play.

in CbB create new audio track name it, save as track template -
Open new song and insert this track template into it and see if there is a delay in playback. I'm getting a delay even from this simple track template

Has anyone else noticed this delay in playback?

scook so I need to report this as a bug? Did you try the simple test I outlined above? Thanks,

Delay meaning there's a delay between hitting spacebar and playback starting?

Does it go away again at some point or do you have to close the project or restart SONAR?

I can't reproduce any kind of a problem. Maybe something to do with initializing I/O ports that the track uses..?

No there's a delay going back 1 bar. I'm using 1 bar as an example to try, but if I click anywhere in the timeline to a different spot in the song to go to, there's a delay for the curser to get there. Playback won't start until after the curser gets to the spot.

I have F3 and F4 setup to go to next bar or previous bar. But any method you use to go to a different spot in the song has the same delay getting there. IN doing this test you don't even have to hit the spacebar, just try to move to a different spot in the song.

Sorry for the confusion with the spacebar, My typical method is to hit stop, back up a few bars and hit the spacebar. I do all that quickly and then wait for the playback to start about 2 sec later.

This delay is permanent at that point. Every single time I move to a different bar there a delay getting the curser there. The file is somehow corrupted. If I reboot, it's still there with the delay. I even tried selecting all the tracks and copying them to a new project and the corruption is still there with the delay.

This sounds to me like you've got a look-ahead type plugin on your track template.

What effects do you have on the template?

I do have FX in my track template that I use most often, but in the example I give in my first post. This strange delay happens even with a 1 track template that has 1 audio track with no FX or anything unusual.

As soon as I insert this template into a project that does have audio and midi and FX, I get that delay as soon as I insert that simple 1 audio track template.
