Inspector Effect Values Not Changing

Hello.  First, as a blind user, I often have only one way to get at effect parameters of many plug-ins, and that is through the Track INspector.  So, this is very important ... usually my only way of accessing many plug-ins.

That said, here's my situation.  If I have an effect patched into an audio track, and then go to the Master Bus and patch another effect into it, I caqnnthe parameters of that Master Bus effect.  I go into the Inspector, and it still shows the parameters for the Track effect!

In other words, I need the inspector to show the parameters of the effect on where I am currently.

Note: If I insert an effect on a bus and then go to an audio track and insert another effect, the same thing happens ... the INspector is still showing the paraameters of the bus effect. It doesn't update and follow me to the audio track's effect.

I hope the above makes some sense.  Is there a setting in Sonar to affect how the Inspector behaves?

Yes, under Module Options in the INspector, I do have "show assignable controls" checked. That was my first idea. :)

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, as I have paying jobs lined up which I can't complete, until I can access various plug-ins.

thanks for your time and any help,

Chris

Hi Chris, if I understand your question correctly, I think you're wanting the Track Inspector to show parameters you're changing on a bus?  if that's correct, then I'm afraid it doesn't work that way.  The Track Inspector only works on TRACKS, not buses.

Hi Beagle. I could always do this until very recently, when I moved to a new fast machine running Win7 Professional, Sonar 64-bit etc.

So, you're saying that if you load an effect onto a bus's effects bin, then go into the Inspector, you don't see four parameters listed? Bringing up the context menu and choosing Reassign Control, you can't also swap one of the four available parameters to any other the plug-in is exposing to the host?

I've always been able to do that, in several versions of Sonar, until very recently.

Ok.  I will check on this when I can tonight or tomorrow and get back with you.  which version of Sonar are you using?  I have S8.3, S8.5.3 and X1 on both a Win7x64 machine and on a WinXP(32bit) machine I can look at the two different machines and see if I can reproduce your problem.  but you'll have to give me a day or two.

if I don't respond by tomorrow night, send me a PM to remind me.
