Installation options

Sorry if this is a bit of an obvious question folks but here goes:
 
I have Sonar X2 Producer and have just purchased the UPGRADE version of X3 Producer. I plan to buy a new computer soon. Simple question: do I need to install X2 before I install X3 or can I just install X3 only? I may be wrong but my thinking here is that surely the fact that I purchased the Upgrade version, means I have to install it on top of a previous version (ie. X2)? 
 
Otherwise there would be no difference between the upgrade and the full version would there? 
 
Someone put me out of my misery please :-)

    Upgrades are the full retail versions of Cakewalk products at a reduced price. No need to install X2 Producer. That said, you may want to run an advanced install of X2 BEFORE installing X3 and install the SONAR program (to get V-Vocal), R-Mix and VC-64 (and maybe Analyst, I need to run the installers to check this one).
     
    All SONAR versions install in separate directories with utilities and plug-ins in shared directories.

    I just ran the X2 and X3 installers. Analyst was dropped in X3. Make sure to select it with the others if you choose to run the advanced X2 install for all the plug-ins unique to X2.
