Installed MC5 5.0.5 and now CalkwalkSound Center is broken
I just installed 5.0.5 and now when it tries to scan the plugins at start up I get a message saying The following plugin caused an error during load CakewalkSoundCenter. Does the new soundcenter 1.1 come included in 5.0.5 or do you have to download it separately. It askes me to disable the plugin. If I try to insert a sound center track a nasty error message. Any hints on how to fix this? Thanks

Any hints on how to fix this? Thanks MC 5.0.5 is the version that comes with the newer SoundCenter 1.1. So, your update should have not produced that error. It seems to me that it therefore did not update all of the files that were needed. My recommendation is that you re-run the 5.0.5 install, making sure that everything is closed out first. I myself just did a reinstall under my Win 7 64-bit system, of MC 5.0.5, because not everything worked right the first time - and the reinstall did the trick. Let us know how that goes for you OK? Also, you do know that the newer SoundCenter is not backward compatible, correct? If you've used SC synths in past projects, you have to pull them up and re-save them one track at a time in the new version. There's an article on that, let me know if you're aware of it. It helped me a lot. Good luck!

I tried to reinstall it and it's getting the message. This happens when I just open MC5 so the converting the soft synths wouldn't make a difference. I don't think it would try to load them until I opened a project with one of them in it. Thanks

Maybe JD or someone who has done the update recently can answer this, but I just looked in my folder where the update for MC5.0.5 was unzipped and there are 2 files, one for an MC5 update and the other for a soundcenter update. I don't know if the soundcenter update was called by the MC5 update or if I ran them separately. John, do you remember?

I'll need to look into that...I seem to remember just one file, the MC5 update being there..... hummmm, perhaps that is the cause of my WI issues.... but I believe CSC updated with that one MC5 update.... I will look into it. Cakewalk support has stopped writing to me on this topic. Apparently they don't have the answer. I'm looking at the store and I see they have a DimLE compatible world instrument library, and it costs more but if ti works with my current DimLe I would consider that...I even asked about that in the last support email to them..... I think there is an upgrade to DimLe 1.5 that is required..... and that kind freaks me out a bit with all the trouble I'm having with WI/CSC.

I saw that as well Reece, but I never had to run the SoundCenter update separately, nor have I seen any documentation that tells us to. So, I believe that it is called by the main MC5 setup. However, I wonder in a case like this, if that could be helpful? It should not hurt anything to try running it separately to "force" the SC to update. Worth a shot.

I can't imagine it would hurt either. I would try it if I were the OP!

The installer comes zipped. You have to extract it, and place it on the desk top. run it from there. Try right clicking it and run it as administrator. some times that is what is needed.
