Installing Jamstix

Hi everyone.  I just bought Jamstix to install in SP8.5.3.  The problem is although it installed in the Cakewalk/VSTplugins file, even after scanning it is not recognized in the softsynths  when I try to insert it into a song.  It has been several years since I installed a third party plug in, and I seem to have forgotten some simple step for doing so.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Try moving the janstix2.dll into a different folder. then run the vst scan. then put it back in folder it came from and scan again. See if that get things going.

Tom, thanks for the reply.  I got Sonar to recognize Jamstix in the VST's, but I haven't been successful at getting Jamstix to load the drum kits that came with it.  If any Jamstix users out there can give me a clue I'd appreciate it, otherwise, I'll get in touch with Jamstix after the weekend.  BTW, I've unzipped the drum kit that came with the download into the Jamstix folder in my VST file, but when I try to load it into Jamstix I get a message that says a decompressed file has not been found.  Thanks.

If your using custom soft synth layouts it won't show up until you add it.

    Hi Lynn-
I got Sonar to recognize Jamstix in the VST's, but I haven't been successful at getting Jamstix to load the drum kits that came with it.

Are you using "Quickstart", or are you going to "Kit" on the Main Menu and clicking "Load"?

You will have to run the install for each of the kits before they will be available. I suggest you seek assistance on the jamstix forum.

Good call, Tom -- I'd forgotten that step!

@Lynn- See p. 12-14 of the .pdf manual, esp:
9.3 Installing Paks (Stock Kit & Expansions)
Use the ‘Install Pak’ button to install the Jamstix stock kit and any other expansion Paks you may have purchased. This is a straight-forward process: select the RXP or RX2 file of the Pak and Jamstix will install it.
You should then be able to use Kit > Load.
