Instrument Definitions

Ok, Noob question #7489,
I finally found a .ins file for my Roland TD-8 module. Like finding needle in a haystack. I'm trying to install it in Sonar x2. Cakewalk says to store it in your Roland.ins file. Where is that.
I found a master.ins file but nothing else.

you've got to import it . In preferences/midi, click on instruments, then define, another dialog box will appear called "define instruments and names", click on import and go to where the td ins file is (i.e Roland.ins) and choose from the list that comes up in "import instrument definitions" once you chosse a definition to load in, close the dialogs box and choose what midi out put to send to the instrument (i.e 1:3-PCR/1or what ever your midi outs are named), hope this helps
