Instrument Definitions

After leaving Cakewalk behind after they closed shop, I am returning to the free version after a year of fighting with Samplitude Pro X3. My question is, I use the Korg M1 synth vsti. I can access it using Cakewalk. I downloaded the Korg.ins file and imported it in. How am I able to see the patch names without opening the interface screen? Is it possible?

    This isn't possible.

You can't use .ins files with VSTi's.

The only way I've ever got this to work was to host the VSTi in a separate program (e.g. Cantable) and set up a virtual MIDI port between the two. But the downsides to this with audio routing overwhelmingly outweigh any benefits you get from using an .ins file.

It's best just to use the VSTi's GUI to select the patch.

I can live with that. Thanks.
