Instrument Tracks in track view and console

Is it possible to have an instrument (soft synth) track visible in the console as well as in the track view at the same time? It seems like something pretty simple, but If I put it on one view it takes it off the other.  And half the time it won't even show in the console at all until I play with it, turning stuff on and off randomly in the track manager.

    Press H for the Track Manager. Then try removing the checkmark next to the option at the bottom of the dialog box called Keep Track/Console Visibility States in Sync.

    I will try that, I bought your book and it helped a ton .... I may need to re-read the section on the console however.
