Intel AVX Chipset Motherboard

In the SONAR X1 Mind Map document there's a mention that X1 is optimized for the Intel AVX chipset.  I'm in the process of building a computer and would like to know which motherboards have such chipset.  Is there anyone in particular that someone recommends to use with X1?
Thanks,
Sergio

The latest and greatest Intel 'Sandy Bridge' CPUs have AVX built in. Get any of the 2x00k CPUs and you will be gold. AVX is a SIMD trick. SIMD stands for Single Instance Multiple Data. Its basically away to boost performance using code tricks that take advantage of CPU properties.

Whenever AMDs 'Bulldozer' comes out, it will include AVX as well

He doesn't have a motherboard or a video card. That was the point of his post.

www.newegg.com has a nice search function to narrow down your choices also.

You may find that "server/workstation" motherboards have greater compatibility problems with things like multiple UAD cards.

no supermicro on that page and id use firewire on a C7P67 and
never look back.. and if i d1d go PCIe the interface would 16 in
16 out, more than enough to track a live drum kit.

That list is by no means "complete"
Do some investigating... and you'll find issues with workstation/server-class mobos running multiple UAD cards.

Thank you all for the information.
I had tried to do a search over at New Egg but could not tell if the MBs supported AVX.
That Supermicro MB looks great with plenty of PCI and PCI-E slots.
Do all LGA 1155 CPU's support AVX?

I gave you a general heads up...
The rest (testing) is up to you

U-Audio will list specific (known) issues based on past tech-support experience.
They're not going to test every possible pre-release motherboard.

Be sure to update Windows 7 with SP1 for taking advantage of AVX instructions.

    Serge

The new Sandybridge chips do. And from what I have read and understand about AVX this is something supported by the CPU/OS/Program and not something that would be supported by a motherboard.

IOW, get the right CPU is the first step. Then make sure your OS supports it, then if your real lucky your DAW of choice will support it.
