All I can find is some wierd .exe files. atm I am not at the computer with the Intel mobo so I can't use them. Those .exe files are exactly what you need. Integrate it as a patch/update instead of a driver. It works...

ORIGINAL: Twigman Why would a mobo manufacturer of a mobo without floppy support supply their drivers on a floppy? Just to piss customers off good and royal prolly.

ORIGINAL: slartabartfast This is a typical problem of technology outpacing itself. Luckily, I am hearing rumors that the next Microsoft Operating sytem to be called MS Vastness (code named blundring behemouth) will support telepathic interfacing, thus obviating the need for any drives whatsoever to load drivers. Drivers will be shipped in the form of a loose-leaf notebook containing thousands of pages of 1's and 0's which you can simply read while Vastness installs from a magic crsystal suspended over your computer reading your mind for the contents of the notebook. The only thing holding up the release is that Microsoft has yet to work out the system the installation crystal uses to incinerate software pirates. I think the future of this stuff can ultimately go one of two ways. First path, in 30 years our kids are living in a world where you buy a computer, buy an interface, plug things in and everything works, no ifs ands or buts, every time, no sweat. Grandpa tells them about the old days when you had to flash your firmware and spend hours scouring MS tech boards trying to find out why your prefetch wigwam doesn't play noce with your $Lsmft file. They laugh at you... "who would ever put up with a system as silly as that?". You laugh, remembering how wack it was to even dick around with it all when all you ever really wanted to do was record music (!) Now, as to that second path? I leave that to your imagination...

Not sure if people are still having the issue of installing an OS and not being able to load it due to running a SATA drive in RAID. GG to Intel for providing the drivers via Floppy and no floppy controller on the board. I ran into the same issue but after goofing around with settings, you can run the SATA drive in IDE mode and it works just fine. It's in BIOS under drive configuration I beleive. Now my problem is installing applications. I keep getting errors and the programs won't install. Keep getting read errors from the C: drive. I'm begining to wonder if running it in IDE mode still is the problem. Going to be installing Vist x64 this weekend so I'm hoping that fixes the issue.

Not to bump an old post; but -I have tried the slipstreaming multiple times; slipstreaming SP2 and SATA drivers, just SP2, SATA drivers alone, etc. and I still get when asking to install windows a "Hard drive not found" -I have tried running it in IDE mode and eventually get a BSOD -The USB floppy (when hitting F6) shows all the drivers necessary (ICH9 SATA RAID) but the same issue still comes (No hard drive found) -The Hard Drive is NOT found in the BIOS, ever. Then where is the problem? When making sure the hard drive is getting power I sometimes hear it whirr regularly, but then three sequential clicks like a car blinker. CLick-click. Click-click. CLick-click. My question is, Is the hard drive dead? If the USB floppy is recognized, and drivers show on F6 prompt, is it compatible even though I still run into the same error? Etc. I've tried every solution. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for your time. (Western Digital Caviar SATA-300, Intel DP35DP, with an IDE CD drive.) -Glenn

CLick-click. Click-click. CLick-click. That's a classic DOA HD. Replace it... and you should be up and running.

Now after a new harddrive, I'm getting a BSOD physical memory dump at windows install, usually around "Installing Devices." Any ideas?

Sounds like your memory isn't 100% compatible with the motherboard (or you have a bad stick). Use Memtest to verify this (google search for the download link). I'm pretty sure you'll need to swap out the RAM...

Got it up and running a few hours after the first BSOD's. Using the slipstreamed SP2 disc worked perfectly, still might have a bad stick, running video games very well but when minimizing or during loading screens with background programs running it can freeze up. All this stuff on these types of forums helped so I figured I'd give back. Was a dead HDD indeed, when using slipstreamed disc (using nlite) I got it installed no problem.

Glad to hear it. nLite was the savior for my system too! Good luck in the future.
