Intermittent Dropouts

I'm getting intermittent breaks occasionally during playback and recording that last for a fraction of a second but transport continues and there's no dropout message.  Also doesn't affect recording.  CPU, memory and disk usage is light. If anyone knows what could be causing this, please let me know.

This usually points to the some other background process kicking in and stealing system resources, such as:

    • Virus Checker (including Windows Defender)
    • Windows Indexing Service
    • OneDrive
    • Windows Update (or any other update like Google, Apple etc - Adobe & Java normally only do their checks on startup)
I either disable or set these to manual.

Also make sure you've not got any browsers open. Google ads on websites are a real PITA with javascript running in the background.

    Thanks M, I'm really wishing I would've stayed with Win 7.

It was introduced as part of a new update, I was introduced to the same exact dropouts when i upgraded. One way to get rid of this issue is to downgrade back to the version you had before the problem started I guess. But you may lose some features in your downgrade. I think you have to start from scratch on all new projects. I've noticed that i got the dropouts when i reloaded old or previous projects. You may not get dropouts if you start on new projects and make sure you save the project to a location that doesn't move to a new folder.

Are there anyone not experiencing this issue that have upgraded and uses the program regularly with latest update?
