Introduction of dark theme killed some colors in default theme...

I wouldn't have minded the addition of the dark theme IF it hadn't affected the existing theme...
Obviously some colors in Preferences -> Customization -> Colors no longer work or started working incorrectly.

Please compare the two screenshots and see what I have lost.

Each month people visit to kowtow the new features, but then folks who actually use the software show up. Shame on you...

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

I'm not having this problem. At lease not yet. All colors look fine in Mercury.

In order to notice the issue, you need to be someone who use non-default colors for the following items in Preferences -> Customization -> Colors.

    • Track View Track Folder Name Text
    • Console Instrument Track Name Text
    • Console MIDI Track Name Text
    • Console Hardware Output Name Text
    • Console View Control Text and Values (the text on the drop-downs, e.g. In/Out selectors, weren't affected by this in previous versions; it is in 2016.05)

If these items still work as expected in 2016.05 Early Access Release, please let me know. I'll contact support then.

I don't normally use custom colors, but I did test some of the behavior you are seeing and can confirm the same new behavior in 2016.05 on my system.

    1.  Folder track names no longer follow the Customization > Colors in preferences
    2.  Input and Output dropdown lists now follow the Console View Control Text
    3.  Console numbers no longer follow the Customization > Colors in preferences

This change in behavior seems to be similar to the loss of Clip background custom colors when Track strip and Console strip colors were enabled in Sonar X3.

Since 2016.05 is a first iteration on Themes, we might hope that customization may improve in future releases.

    Hope this helps,
    Ron

Thanks for taking the time and confirming it, Ron. Hope the theme editor coming soon will be able to fix this.

I don't have a "Theme" setting at all under Preferences --> Customization. Any ideas?

Are you using the "Advvanced" view?
If so, then the update did not install properly. Happened to me with the early release. Try installing it again.

Be patient. These features are still a work in progress. Just list the issues you have and they should eventually be sorted out.

When making color changes some will change instantly and some will not. The asterisk notation referring to this detail in Colors is no longer accurate so be sure to restart Sonar before reporting a color issue.

To get an idea of what will change and what won't, select ALL and change them to one obvious color like PINK, restart Sonar and go from there.

Yes, I make it a habit to restart the program after modifying colors in Preferences.

Nope, what they fixed is different from what I reported. I can still reproduce my issue in 2016.05 Update 1.
