Intrument Preview

Is there a way to preview or search for an instrument in Dim Pro ? If im looking for something simple like a Harmonica, whats the easiest way to search for it in all of the Instrument, Element, Layer, and other groupings ?

Thanks!

There's no dedicated audio preview. The programs load into memory, and that's the actual preview process itself. As for navigation in the Program Browser, I find it easiest to use the four arrow keys, combined with alphanumeric characters. You can jet around the selections much more quickly than mouse movement.

Going by the preset names alone, sometimes it isn't very obvious what the core sound might be underneath, and a lot of them could've fit multiple categories. You might find it useful to print out what's in there from this Dimension Pro Programs List.

Finding sounds is a pain! I've several times resorted to doing a standard Windows search on the Dim Pro Programs folder!

Yep, thanks Andrew, tried that too with some limited success.
If anyone could tell me how to find just a plain ole Harmonica voicing I'd be thrilled.

Actually if there was a way to map out what instrument is on each note / position in the layers, grooves, and splits that would save lots of time searching too...

If a new version comes out some day for Dimenssion or Rapture I bet you they will have a browser search and type serach.

That will be an upgrade itself.

It is always good to invest in a winner !IMO
