Invalid Serial Number
Man, this is turning into a pain in the a$$. So, I need to run the installation CD for X1 in order to install the studioware panels. Now, when I insert my installation CD, it autopopulates the serial number, when I hit next, it says invalid serial number. But its NOT, I even checked in my account here, and its the correct serial. Now what?????

I had this problem during the installation of the last hot patch, where I had followed the instructions to roll back to a certain version then apply the new patch. Every time I tried to apply the patch I got the same error message as you are seeing. I had to revert even farther back to the earliest X1 patch in order to install the newest patch. Is it possible that you have applied patches to your X1? If so, the symptom you describe might have to do with that patch not your serial number. Help desk instructed me to go back to the earliest dated "backup" folder and use that sonarprd.exe file. I'd check with support.

Well, what version of Sonar are you running? It's not clear from your signature which still says 8PE

If you have expanded make sure you are entering the correct number. Expanded has a different serial number to vanilla X1.

Oh, maybe thats the problem, I do have expanded, and I was trying to run the original X1 CD. Thanks. I did find the studio panels from back in Sonar 7, so Im gonna try and use that one for now.

Just a suggestion - you have three threads related to essentially the same problem in a round about way. It's difficult for people to help and for you to see the assistance spread across multiple threads. Just an observation.

If you're installing files form Sonar 7 then you'll have to enter the aerial for Sonar 7 when asked not for X1 or X1 Expanded.
