Ipswitch update file SONAR_Platinum_UP8_Setup_21.8.0.33[1] - What must I do with it?

The original Ipswitch file was called:
SONAR_Platinum_UP8_Setup_21.8.0.32.exe
I double-clicked on it and it installed. No problem.

The in-between updatefile  is called
SONAR_Platinum_UP8_Setup_21.8.0.33[1]

How do I install it?

My studio PC is not online, I do not use CCC.

So, it is not an .EXE file then? Or has it just lost the .EXE extension?

Have you tried adding the extension yourself? I suppose caution must be exercised when doing that...

And how large it that file? Is it a similar size the the previous one?

    Just wondering...

edit:- My file, of that name, is around 395mb

    Mine's also 395mb.
I guess I'm OK if I rename in and add an exe extension, then.

It has that name already when it asks me "Do you want to open or save ..."
The older Ipswitch at this point was a normal .exe file IIRC.

The [1] normally suggests that there is a file with that name already... Are you sure the the .EXE version is not there somewhere.

In any case, I would certainly have a go at renaming that file, by giving it a .EXE extension, and see what happens...

    cheers

I think something like that happened when the Bakers put this update in the store.

The file already has that number before I have told Intenet Explorer where to save it, so it's not happening my end.

    Hello,

There was indeed a configuration issue with the file delivery that affects downloads from Internet Explorer. The file will still work, the ".exe" extension was simply taken off the end of it.

To fix you can rename your file and add .exe to the end. You can also just download it again since the configuration issue has been resolved.

    Sorry for the trouble!
