Is Amplitude Marshall JCM (Slash) software compatible with sonar?

Just like to get that crunch without having to use the real thing... Does anyone here use Amplitude software with Sonar DAW? And do you need the iRig thingy to use Amplitude Software, Can it be used with external soundcard like the Scarlette 2I2?  Can it also be used as an FX or through a VSTi or something?

I have the old Amplitude II and the free 3 and they both work.
Use a good preamp into you interface or better a good ch strip.

Alright, I just downloaded the Amplitude 3 Free version and see it in the Plugins Audio FX as VST2, dragged it into the audio track's FX bin and awesomeness... Lots of amps there for free!!! Hmmm... This is pretty cool.
 
Do you know if the Marshall JCM and the AFD 100 sound good? Might go head first and buy... Or might mess with what is already in the Free version...

I'm sure Slash wouldn't sign off on something that didn't sound good :)

Right now you can buy the full version of Amplitube 3, Slash and Orange for $99. For one example.

You can give Amplitude a helping hand also by using the preamp section of an amp if it has a line out. Will need a dummy speaker load if it is valve. 
You can still use the real thing this way.
Speaker cab IRs are also popular.
 
Now you have bought Ampli3 you have it easy.
 
Another advantage is if say 5 years or less down the track a new amp sim comes out or some such and that Sonar pjts today can be opened by thens super computers how good the preamp you used will be a factor but moreso if you end up with a killer song you can always reamp it with the real deal.
 
Because you have it easy to track with amp sims it is also easy to not put importance on the raw signal being recorded as the sims mask a lot of woes. 
 
My point is really listen to your dry track rather than straight on with Amplitude or a cursory check of the level.
Get the dry track as good as you can is all I am suggesting.
Some better preamps/DIs can cost as much or more than a real amp. 
Even Reamp devices are not cheap.

I have used Amplitube Orange or Fender on just about every song I have tracked for the last several years. I think, at least the top 6 or 7 songs on my Sound Cloud have Orange in them. Amplitube has become my go to sim in just about every case. As suggested, the free trials are great, I just wish they gave you more than 3 days to demo them.

To claim your 2 extra Amplitude products, you need to access the user area and click the Promotions link, you'll see the Amplitude Group Buy, you then choose the Amplitude software titles you can download and use for free!
 
I d/l the Slash and Orange and purchased the full amplitude 3 - SO far been messing around with Slash collection, sound SIK!
 
In sonar all you do is drag the VST Amplitude3 from your Audio browser to the audio track's FX. The amplitude app loads and from there you can simply choose from huge selection of amps, (in this case the JCM Marshall Slash) and awesomeness!!!

I just ordered iRig HD today and is currently being processed.  I would imagine, (depending where it will be shipped from) could take a week or so.  If this is the case, I won't be able to register the product on time to be eligible for the Olympics promotion and receive a further 2 Amplitude products.
 
In this case, (I know I know, just saying in case IK Sales ppl monitor these threads) would I be able to pre-register the product before the end of the promotional period? Would anyone here know? I think I'm best to try IK Multimedia Sales Support :)

 
I certainly don't know the answer to your question and I would go ahead and fire off an email to ease your mind (you can post on their forum too http://www.ikmultimedia.c...c.php?f=5&t=7667).  IK support has always been very quick for me.

First, let me say I'm very happy for you.  I bought AT3 when it came out and have been very happy.  I've bought a couple of amps and fx from the custom shop since then while lusting after the Orange & Fender collections, but I never got around to buying either.
 
Secondly, thanks so much for starting this thread!  I never would have known about this Olympics deal if Clint Martin hadn't posted that link (Thanks Clint!).
 
And finally, my spouse hates me and you because I'm not doing a damn thing for the rest of the weekend other than figuring out which 3 I'm going to get.  The Slash collection hadn't been on my radar, but it damn sure is now.

The "Olympics" is an incredible deal. I got Fender and Orange. Thunderverb is very much like a real one I played recently. I will be using all Orange amps a lot, very pleased with them. Also Fender Supersonic is great.

I just installed Orange, Fender and the Hendrix collections.  Just wow. 
 
It is an incredible deal, but I'm honestly kicking myself for not getting at least one or two of them 5 years ago.  Those Fenders are just so sweet, and I've missed my Twin Reverb for ages.

The full "Metal" package is included in Amplitube 3 already. Just in case some people didn't know that. I highly recommend the Ampeg collection too.

Ahhh awesome! Then I'll go for the Ampeg collection instead of the Metal and also the Fender Amp when I get my iRig HD in :)

I suppose if you don't have a bass guitar you can run midi track through to SI-Bass Guitar Virtual instrument and add the Ampegs in the audio track of the SI Bass FX bin....
 
Then again you could use melodyne on your guitar track audio played to bass rhythms to change octave and add the Ampegs to its FX maybe???

Man, I wish I didn't get such lust for these things. I already have TH2, GR5, Waves GTR3, and most recently Scuffham S-Gear 2 (which I like the most, soundwise) and the Redwirez BigBox IRs.

Someone please tell me that covers my bases on the ampsim front.
