Is FSound Universal 120 compatible with Windows 10
I need FSound Universal 120. I consider it the control panel for Rapture and I am unable to make it work in Rapture Pro the Sonar x3 version. I have tried administrator it unpacks runs through the motions but never seems to do anything. I tried compatibility mode for Win7 and get the same result. Does anyone else experience this or is there something wrong with my download? It always worked.

I doubt the OS makes any difference to expansion packs. Still on Win7 but I expect we can figure out how to get U120 working. Was the package installed using the Command Center or by manually running the installer? From the post I assume both Rapture and Rapture Pro are installed, is this correct? Assuming Rapture is installed does U120 appear in it after refreshing the Rapture browser with F5?

Thanks for the reply I have never heard of command center. I tried running the installer in win10 then put into administrative mode should I try compatability modes. Has anyone else with that had any issues? FSound gives you many controls premade for Rapture.

So #1 is manual install. Does this mean you only have Rapture? Or do you also have Rapture Pro? Assuming you only have Rapture and use a default installation U120, the installer should create "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples\Universal 120" and one or more folders in "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs\" starting with "00 - Universal 120" There are other folders and content but first make sure those in the right place. If they are and pressing "F5" when in the Rapture program browser does not find the new program folders. Shutdown Rapture, rename "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs\program.lst" and restart Rapture.

Hi, Did you get your install working? If you had any expansion packs installed for Rapture when you install Rapture Pro they should be automatically copied over to your Rapture Pro installation for you. If you are installing U120 with just a Rapture Pro installation the latest installers from Cakewalk should work. If you are running into an issue let me know. Cheers

To explain the Sounds load the F5 key does show them but the envelope generators and modulation generators are not working. I should be able to lmb on the envelope section and it should give me a lot of preset envelopes otherwise you only get 5 shapes in the initial Rapture. In my view this program is indispensable and should actually be licensed when buying Rapture it is the control section for it But for the life of me I can't get it to work in Windows 10 I have tried it both on the x64 and x32 bit versions of Sonar X3

I tried running Sonar in administrative mode and I still have the same problem. Sonar x3 producer is compatible with Windows 10 isn't it?

The Envelope Generator and Step Generator presets should be located here: C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\EG C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\SG Check to see if they are in either of these locations, then you can copy them over. 64bit location: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture 32bit location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Rapture If you need the SG and EG Presets PM me and I can send you the loose folders so you can manually install them. Cheers

Reply to scook I think I only have Rapture. Originally there was a Rapture lite and rapture but I only have that one . IMHO Rapture wasn't completely finished and I need the FSound setups to do that to have a finished product. So it is important to get Universal setup and running.

In the first directory I am finding Universal did install but when I click on the loading preset button I get can't find the waveform. When I press F5 on the browser it blinks the preset browser but still isn't finding the samples even though the directory is created and the sounds are all in there. Do I need to run Cakewalk as Administrator? Do I need to put F-Sound in Administrator mode or change the compatibility? I am using Win8.1

FWIW, Chad is with Fisound so I thought it would be best to let him handle the issue. You can contact them directly at http://fisound.com/contact/ methodman3000 In the first directory I am finding Universal did install but when I click on the loading preset button I get can't find the waveform.
I cannot follow what is meant by the "first directory" or "preset button." Usually there is no need to run Rapture or Cakewalk as administrator to get Rapture to function properly. F5 is only going to rebuild the Rapture browser based on prog file entries in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs. The F5 function does not know anything about the samples. It is not clear, if after rebuilding the browser, the U120 programs appear. Here is the browser showing the three U120 folders: If for some reason the browser refresh is not picking up the programs. You could try running SONAR as administrator or directly manipulate the program.lst file as I mention at the end of message #4 above. All F5 does is delete and rebuilt the program.lst file. The browser refresh does nothing with respect to the EG and SG files though. Those are built on the fly based on the contents of C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\EG (here are the menus when clicking just above the Envelop Generator area) and C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\SG (here are the menus when right-clicking the Step Sequencer area)

Discovered I didn't put any drivers in for midi interface I did that now Rapture works with the Universal presets but is not working with the envelope and modulation things. #1 directory works The Program data files is a hidden file and I can't seem to locate how to view it. In folder options I am not finding the advanced options switch. How do you do this for 8.1? I hate when Ms eliminates features to make it easier. !!! I see no access to an advanced settings menu. All I see is show all folders but that didn't do anything. I never had this problem with 7.

I also don't have the Universal 120 bonus Visited Folder options again this time it gave me the option so now I see programdata folder. Could it be my installation of it Fisound Universal _120v2.001.exe Is that a partial download. Maybe I will download from cakewalk again. Multiple installations have not put those eg and sg parts into the right folder. I watched the installation into my C Programdata folder and nothing touched it. Is it possible for me to have accidentally protected that part of my computer? It seems as if all the installers should work fine.

Tried that still didn't work. It is not installing into the program data directory. Is there a way to do a manual install?

Are you able to locate the programs (.prog), EG and SG files? If so, they just need to be moved in the appropriate locations.

Hi, I got your email and replied this morning, check it out. I included the Bonus programs with the download link so you should have those now as well. Thanks Scook for the additional screenshots and help.

Thanks Chad for your assistance I got everything going for all of it. I was just curious I downloaded the bonus sounds are they the ones that were in the store and you had to log in order them and log out. If so thank you that was kind of a pain. This is much easier. That link to the store also no longer works from my install anyways.
