Is Snap To Grid funky? (SOLVED - No it's not funky. It's just how it works.)

Sorry if this has been asked, I looked and didn't see anything about it ...

Snap To Grid in PRV will not work unless Snap To Grid is enabled for the Project. I've verified this on multiple projects.

Also ... if you have Snap To Grid in PRV turned off, midi notes will still snap to the Project Snap To Grid settings, so if you want to move midi notes freely, you have to turn both Project and PRV Snap off.

Is this intended behavior or a bug?

I don't remember it working this way prior to X1D.

Thanks,

Bub

AFAIK it's worked that way since the separate snap system was introduced, which isn't a great feature IMHO. YMMV of course (and all the other disclaimers it is now necessary to add to every post I make for fear of upsetting someone. )

if you want to move the midi notes freely,
you can turn off and on the global snap function with F12 :)

you don't need to first turn of the snap in PRV and then the global one

    (i like the F12 key) :)
