Is SonarPlus stable in 246?

I would be interested in using this possibly. Are some of the functions still broken? I recall some users having problems with it. I have had no problems at all with X1 and I am not willing to jeopardize that with anything that may cause problems. I hate to sound skeptical but I have been so lucky so far. I'd hate to ruin my record.LOL

    Hi Sidroe,

Thanks for asking about SONAR Plus. Version 1.0.0.9 has been downloaded nearly 700 times since its release. I have heard of very few problems during that time. There are, however, a few known issues that have yet to be resolved:

    1. A small number of people have reported that SONAR stops responding in some circumstances if you start SONAR Plus with the 'Switch to Full Screen Mode on startup' option enabled. This is easily avoided if you disable that option (it's disabled by default anyway).
    2. If you start Plus too quickly after closing SONAR (or if SONAR crashes), you might get a 'SONAR window not found' error
    3. Plus must be run with same permissions as SONAR (ie. if SONAR is run as administrator, Plus must be too), otherwise certain SONAR Plus features will not work (like the not length buttons in the PRV).
    4. A small number of people have reported a minor screen redraw problem when switching to Full Screen Mode the first time. It fixes itself after that.
    5. If the Control Bar is floating, the hide MultiDock on Startup option doesn't work.

All of the above are relatively minor, with the exception of the first problem. If you disable the 'Switch to Full Screen Mode on startup' option then it won't happen anyway.

Other than that, SONAR Plus has proven itself to be very reliable. You should also bear in mind that it doesn't make any permanent changes to SONAR at all, except for adding a link to itself to the SONAR Utilities menu. It's entirely up to you if you decide to run it or not for any given SONAR session. If you decide to give it a go, it's easily uninstalled afterwards if you don't like it for any reason.

Sidroe, I use Sonar Plus all the time and it is 100 percent stable.  I have actually removed my Sonar shortcuts and ONLY have Sonar Plus shortcuts.

Ben, just a thought - why don't you make full-screen mode the default, seeing as activating it causes problems for some people (myself included)?

For some reason my Sonar (which I only start using Sonar Plus) always starts in FS so I don't have to click that dreaded button any more.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Plazma. Not everyone wants to work in full screen mode, so I leave it up to people to either change the 'Switch to Full Screen Mode on startup' option, or click the button on the toolbar.

To others reading this: beware of the bug mentioned above. If you're going to work in FSM, just try it out first. It seems to work fine for most people (like me), but a handful of people have reported the problem. I'll get around to fixing it sooner or later!
