Is There a Way to Edit Multiple MIDI Notes' Properties at the Same Time?

I need to get better at picking the subjects of my posts--I don't leave much for the post itself
 
I need to grab all of the kick drum MIDI notes from the PRV and change their duration. There has got to be a way to do all of them at once and I'm missing it. I laso them all and right-click, but when I edit the properties, it only applies to one note.
 
Any help is very much appreciated.

In the menu go to Process/Find/Change. This will bring up the Event Filter Menu. From there you can select ranges of notes i.e. kick drum, and modify the duration.

For adjusting velocity and duration, click on the associated "key" in the - what do they call that thing - the vertical strip on the far left of the PRV that looks like a keyboard if you don't have a drum map, or contains drum names if you do. That'll select every MIDI event corresponding to that note, and then you can adjust them all at once.

Ah, you guys rock. This is exactly what I needed.

I thought bitflipper's comment about the PRV was awesome.  I have used Sonar/Cakewalk since it ran on a coal-burning PC and I did not know this.

in piano roll view, lasso select (rightclick-dragging), then doubleclick on 1 note.
properties  then opens, make changes there will apply all notes selected.
 
also you can select by clicking 1 midi note, then shift-click other note to create continuous selection.
double click 1 note, same as above.
can also ctrl-click notes to make not-continious selection.
so same as in windows really.
also you can click a note on the 'piano' keys on left, then you select all those paticular notes at once....

That's cool. As you said, that would be very helpful for non-contiguous notes.

Yes, the Event Inspector Module in the Control Bar is great for this.
 
However, when it comes to Velocity values that are different... you have to set them to "0" first and then re-set them to the desired level.

That's not strictly true Steve.
 
There is one little quirk when changing velocities using the Event Inspector module in that, if you have a bunch of notes selected and you want want to change them all to, say, 100.
If the FIRST selected note is already at 100, none of the others will change. Any other velocity value for the first note and they will ALL change.
This has caught me out numerous times.
 
Your setting them to "0" will work, but it's not necessary unless your first note's velocity is also the target velocity.
 
Please, try it, and confirm I'm not talking out of my bottom (or anywhere else)

And that is just about the only use I have ever found for that "feature". But if you're not looking and paying close attention, it will get you in trouble too.
