Is This a BUG? Sonar X1C Nudge Issue Still Exists. Directly Previous Layer Disappears.

Able to replicate problem. .....Insert Instrument Track (midi drums).....Record first take (example bass drum)= Layer 1 .....Record second take (example hi hats) = Layer 2 ....Highlight/select midi data only second take when in "show layers" view .....Nudge highlighted midi layer (in this instance hi hats) to the right 2 .....Layer 2 nudges, but Layer 1 now disappears (visually and sonically) .....problem seems to be when the newest layer being nudged falls somewhere in the middle of the layer directly above it (or the most recent take before the nudged one). For example, adding a drum fill in the middle of the chorus or a layer that starts before and ends after nudged take. The problem existed on X1B, but I had thought it was some setting...but never found solution. Seems like strange behavior. Any solutions greatly appreciated.

Had the same issue. When nudging in the PRV the notes vanish completely. The work around is to Highlight, go to track view, nudge, then go back to PRV. Sucks, I know.

    Preferences > Customization > Editing

Switch from Slide Over to Make Room to Blend Old with New.

"Slide Over" would cause problems in the scenario you describe in any case, but it also has a bug that it moves the one layer farther than necessary just to "Make Room", and it will continue to move the other clip further to the right every time you nudge the first one.

I forgot to mention that this happens in TRACK VIEW, NOT PRV..but i will try that first suggested workaround. Also I didnt realize it shifts everything...will look into that. Thanks. PS Cakewalk, You Suck. Hope you guys find that senior engineer ASAP. You deserve all the flack you're getting. Ah, feel slightly better.

My issue was a 5 ms nudge that in PRV would make all notes selected COMPLETELY vanish all together. Switch to track view with same notes selected using the nudge 2 (set to 5ms)and all works normal. It's not all projects for me though. It's happened several times though. Very annoying. I don't have the 'slide over to make room' checked. I always use 'blend old and new'
