Is amount of PDC for each plug-in displayed somewhere?
I've been searching for this answer exhaustively, but I can't find anything. Maybe I'm just inputting the wrong search terms, but anyway, here's my question: Does Sonar display the amount of Plugin Delay Compensation (PDC) added by either each separate plugin or the combined total all of the plugins in the FX Chain somewhere? Even if it's just the amount of delay reported by the plugin itself, can you see this information anywhere? From what I understand, most plugins will report how much delay it requires, and Sonar will then adjust the total PDC accordingly. Is this information all hidden behind the scenes and inaccessible? From what I've read, Pro Tools can display how much delay is added for plugins, but I'm not sure about what method it is using to determine this (it sounds like it is based off of the plugin reported values). Most references I'm seeing for determining plugin latency in Sonar involve the use of tools such as CEntrance Latency Test Utility or DPC Latency Checker to determine the actual latency (as opposed to the reported). Is it necessary to use a tool like this? It seems like an unnecessary amount of work just to find out a value that Sonar already knows and is using.
