bump.. chrisharbin posed a question to me in another thread: "Confused, is anyone saying they can get audiosnap to work???? Totally broken here (works in 8.5 though) " really I dont know I'll do some testing. as I talked/spoke/typed to you before. X1 and my system hasn't been rosey. all I did was beat matched the timing of a song <via edit clip map and set project from clip>. I haven't tried any real test except for that. and as I'm taking a trip to NY tomorrow I wont have time to test. but I'll try a few things right now.

I can stretch and move audio transients.. but that's it. no quantize.. it's not working as should on my system either. seeing how my upgrade went it's no surprise.

Yes it is totally broken and the fact that it got to market in such broken condition just stinks of incompetence. If Cakewalk can allow a lack of functionality like this through than how can we have confidence in the rest of the product? The quality control is shocking. If I was running Cakewalk heads would've rolled over this.

Dont sound like it, sounds like there was some stuff in audio snap that is broken in 8.5.3 that they will fix in X1 when the next release is released.

Twigman If Cakewalk can allow a lack of functionality like this through than how can we have confidence in the rest of the product? And how did Computer Music give X1 a Editor's choice award when it clearly has bugs and broken functions? Did they not check out the program thoroughly? Of course not. They're there too hock products, not inform readers.

Brandon Ryan [Cakewalk ] Should be fixed in next patch (including some stuff not working properly in 8.5.3). Should? It should've worked out the box without being patched, but didn't. Nothing less than a definitive IT WILL WORK in the next patch is satisfactory....and that patch needs to be available yesterday! Should is a BAD word. Should implies doubt. Doubt does not inspire confidence. Same old Cakewalk - shoddy product that they can't be arsed to make do what it says in the blurb.

This is not a rant or flame .... just an expression of frustration and dissappointment .... if you *really* think about it, how is it possible that a feature as important as AudioSnap in X1 is "broken" yet was [ essentially sort-of ] functional in 8.5.3 ? It can only be as a result of very poor QA and/or rushed coding and/or unqualified beta testing and/or known reported bugs not being addressed ...... or some mix of all these ..... either way ... the fact that it happened leaves me gob-smacked. This issue alone really does highlight the problem a lot are having with X1 - " too much change , all introduced at the same time and a lot of it no-where-near cooked enough ". It feels like CW has inadvertanlty dug themsleves into quite a big hole with X1 and they will need all of their skills, focus and energy to fully-climb out sooner-rather-than-later. I genuinley feel that we will need to see something like 5 or 6 patchs to X1 before X2 is even announced - there really is that much to do in terms of out-standing 8.5.3 bugs + new X-series issues. Tim tim oh I agree fully. cakewalk really needs to follow through here. they really punched themselves in the nose. they have to plan there next moves carefully. in a way I think they did the right thing letting people rant and rave a little. but eventually it has to come under control around here. JMO but I think it would be wise to make a public statement. to state "yes there are problems and we are doing everything they can to try and address issues." which they have done in a number of threads. and as a matter of fact this one.
