Is it just me or does going back and forth from 32 to 64 bit X1 really screw up things?
I was running 64 bit X1 and recently decided to buy Live for my composition purposes to relieve my rewire woes and just do my mixing in Sonar since imo that is really where Sonar is strong at. So since at the time Live was only 32 bit I just decided to load all my plug ins as 32 bit and load X1 as 32 bit and run that way. I started getting BSOD like crazy I now get a some sort of unable to cache pop up every time I start my computer and a slew of other issues. I decided to uninstall X1 and start from scratch but 32 bit won't even install on my pc now. 64 bit however does but I wanted to avoid J Bridge which was the entire reason why I wanted to go 32 bit in the first place. Has anyone else had this problem?

I've had a few BSOD's and they have always been related to trying to open a project with a 64 bit plug in a 32 bit host In order to completely uninstall X1, you have to delete a couple of registry keys. Here's a complete checklist: 1) Completely un-install SONAR from your computer. This is normally done from Start | Programs | Cakewalk. This will not remove any of your project files or audio data. 2) Next you will want to open the Run Command a) In Windows XP this can be done by going to Start | Run b) In Windows Vista and 7 this can be done by holding down the ‘windows’ key and pressing ‘r’ 3) At the prompt type regedit and click OK. ***Backup your Registry before making edits - you do this by clicking the File menu, Export Registry File. 4) Now delete the following Registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\X1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\X1 *Please note that this will remove any effects presets and key bindings you may have made in Cakewalk. You can back these up separately if you like, using Options|Key Bindings, Tools|SONAR Plug-in Manager, and Options|Colors. Hit F1 in these views for detailed instructions on how to do this. 5) Open the 'Run' command again. 6) Copy and paste the following into the prompt: %appdata%\Cakewalk 7) This will open your Cakewalk Application Data folder, right-click on the SONAR folder and choose rename. 8) Rename this folder SONAR X1 Backup. 9) Open the 'Run' command again and type msconfig Click OK and then click on the Startup tab at the upper right of the window that opens. 10) Uncheck all items listed, click OK, then restart your computer. You can always recheck those items again at a later time. 11) Then reinstall SONAR. Make sure to have any virus scanners disabled on installation. It is not required or recommended to turn off any windows services. Install sequence: X1 -> X1c -> Expanded (if applicable) -> X1d

That is way too much stuff just to delete a program. Wow. On the side I didn't open any plugs at that point. I just opened Sonar and this happened.

It takes far longer to type this stuff out than it does to actually perform the operations! And it also builds in several safeguards in case things go wacky - which they often do when you're dealing with software. But it's also the only way to ensure you're at a totally clean starting point before reinstalling.

This only took me about 90 seconds to type up.
