Is it possible X1 Win7 64 sounds better than 8.5 XP 32?

just starting to use my new machine, and I swear that X1 on Win7 64 bit sounds better then 8.5.3 on XP 32... sure, yeah, it should BE better, but I didn't really expect for it to be audible... wow!

It should sound the same, if both have the same audio engine.

If your hearing a noticable difference, then its not X1 64bit causing it. It has to be something that is different, like a setting of some sort.

Do you know if the mix engine/algo was re-written for X1? or maybe it's just that there's an audible difference working in a 64bit native environment?

the main algorithms for the audio engine have not changed for several versions of sonar.

Comparing hardware apples and oranges.  Drivers,...

No way to compare the OS differences, latencies,...

Got any 8.5/32 projects that you can pull up in X1/64 for a true apples-to-apples comparison? Export them and listen in a blind test. If you can still hear a difference, it would be interesting to try and track down the reason for it.
