Duckbar - Console Strip Color Coding Concept

Good news from Duckbar! Colorizing strips seems to be possible. Image above is a real screen capture.
Strip colorizing we become part of Track President - The ultimate replacement for Track Manager. ;-)

Cakewalk, sign him up, sign him up, sign him up.....
It would make things a lot easier for some of us

+1

I'd happily chip in an extra £10 on my upgrade to help pay for some real colour customisation.

Sadly, I really don't think there's enough broad support for the idea for it to be put on any feature update shortlist

Maybe if someone made an official request post and it could get stickied, then everyone could come in and post their desire for it.

You know, I have been thinking about this for a long time myself.  It would be awesome to be able to color code tracks in SONAR X.....

Would certainly make it quite easy to navigate during mixing.  I too am getting long in the tooth and my eyesight ain't what it used to be and colors would make things stand out more.

Let's start a petition... I bet there are more of us lurking in the background that would definitely sign up for CAKE to add this into SONAR.

BTW - is the DUCKBAR free?

Awesome if it is.

In the first test I applied random hue to the captured strip bitmap but with 'little' effort it's possible to use user defined images with transparency support to achieve any kind of visual effect.

I would be thrilled if we could do what SteveStrummerUK illustrated so well; that is, to be able to group tracks and their associated busses by colour - one colour for voices, another for guitars, another for keyboards, another for drums, and so on. We can take the time to select the exact colour that strikes us as just right for each of these groups and then save our work as a template. Now, when we scan a project and see, for example, hunter green, we'll know we have found our rhythm guitars and didn't even need to squint once!

It will make such a positive difference to me - maybe recording will go back to being more fun than it is work!

I can't wait! Go, Panup, go!! and Thank You!

> Will this work in the Track View too? (sorry no formatting, thanks to forum maintenance policy) Yes, colorizing track view is possible, too. I have one major challenge left: how to retrieve routing information from each track. Doing this kind of features from a 3rd party program is quite hardcore stuff.
