Is it possible to copy and paste automation?

I've been trying to copy automation through the "copy special" option. The option to copy clip automation is there but always greyed out. Is this even possible?

Perhaps this is simpler: just open the automation lane (zig zag icon at the bottom of the track), select the automation nodes with mouse, ctrl+c and then ctrl+v where you want.

Hi. I am able to do this on the latest release. Just tried on my laptop.

Are you on the latest version (2016.03)?

Both replies have been helpful. Thank you! I think I can do it now. For what I need to do this will be a huge time saver.

This video might also help. It's done with a previous version, but the techniques should still work...

All of this works like a charm EXCEPT that the source projects were done with the tempo set at 100. The new projects tempos are set at 120. When I paste into the new projects (even though they have the same wave files) the envelope is off because of the tempo discrepancy. I tried changing the tempo on the old projects to 120, but then the wave file changes length and the automation is off as well. New Question. Does anyone know how to make the automation match when the tempo is changed?

I'm at work, so I can't check this before I make a fool of myself, but have you tried zooming all the way out on your project so you can see the whole thing then selecting the entire automation of interest and manually stretching to the end of the project to align?  Just a thought...and easy enough to try.

Good question. It was to be something simple, but it is not.
I thought I had found the answer here http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/1048489, but does not work because the Length command is only enabled for MIDI tracks.
