You mean you can't right click/properties any more?

:-S

It used to just pop up front and center.

X1B may, or may not fix the selection bug and if it does you may or may not be able to drag and drop multiple clips.

There are of course a few work around procedures that you can use in the mean time.

I know... but wasn't that too easy? ;-)

At least the X1b fixed list claims that now we'll be able to open the clip info (still in the inspector) with a dbl-click on the clip... what a horrible trade-off... I keep that set to open the PRV! They just don't seem to "get it"...

Keni

"It is now possible to open the Clip Properties panel of the Inspector by double-clicking a Clip."

I'm hoping that change will do BOTH and not disable the PRV on double click - I LIVE by that short cut. Hoping it's not that simple - or maybe an option?

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm guessing they'll add it as an option in the dbl-click-open dialog.... tho I haven't looked for it in X1... I hope it's still there? <sigh>...

Just wanted to thank you guys for your help so far

What I've done instead for marking areas of clips is, using the smart tool to alt click to quickly slice certain areas into separate clips and then label them under the clip properties.. it'd be nice if there was a quicker way of doing this but I guess this works for now

You can also select a region in the upper part of the clip with the smart tool (can be more accurate than alt splitting I think) right click>split at selection - voila'

Hey Humblenoise, I use to split clips that way but I've found (for me anyways) that alt-clicking is faster... coupled with keybindings for zooming either alt+scroll wheel or Crtl+ arrow keys

Needless to say! I've been really enjoying my keybindings lately for working much quicker!

I don't think that would help, I'm doing some editing of some spoken word, editing out mistakes so I want to be able RR and FF quickly, having the "now time line" persist in that would definitely help me be more precise

Track View>Options>On Stop, Rewind to Now Marker. Place your now time at the beginning of the clip, or wherever you want to rewind to. That might take care of the rewind issue. Then set up a marker at the end of the clip then (from Lorney) Go to next marker CTRL+SHIFT+PAGE DOWNmight work to fast forward. True you'd have to rewind and fast forward to those markers so not very flexible but with Keni's advice on the Sonar helper? Might work/

Even better, it would be cool if you could highlight part of a clip and change the color of the highlighted portion as a mental indicator of that area of the clip

*EDIT* maybe not the color but the contrast/white balance would be good

That's an easy one... Simply split the clip at front/back and change the clip's color...

Thanks Keni!

I figured that out shortly after someone pointed to me to the clip properties under the inspector.

Here is where a CS with a scroll wheel shines. The Mackie Control works ideally with this. But a tilt wheel mouse can be of use too. It wont move the time line but will move the song position. If you have it in the ruler you click on where you want the now time to be.

Yes... I'll bet Ben does use Sonar... We're very lucky that another 'real' user has the chops to fix so many of these issues for us all...

...and I'm really hoping that they didn't kill the PRV dbl-click... Using screensets will drive me (more) nuts!
