Is my old version of Melodyne still around?
I had an older version of Melodyne plugin which had some extra functionality that I'd like to use if needed in the future. After installing X3, I now only have Melodyne Essential which only has the three tools available.
Let's say I want to Kenye West some vocals, or robot-ize them, Melodyne Essential can't do this unless I'm missing something. I could easily do this with the older version I had.
Is my old version still sitting around, or is it one or the other on a PC?

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that if you have a more advanced version of Melodyne installed it will detect that and integrate that into X3. It seems to be working that way here as I own Melodyne Assistant and it's working in X3.

Check in the folder (VST) where you originally installed the original (better) version of Melodyne. It should still be there, and if so simply add it again to the new X3 VST list with plug in manager.

You need at least version 2 as v1 does not support ARA. I believe Celemony offers a temporary upgrade if you don't have 2 yet.

Yes, I have been getting the upgrade messages for a year or so now :( I haven't done so yet, but it may be time soon. I've honestly only used the "extra" tools that Melodyne offered a few times, but to great effect. Thank you for that little bit of insight!

Honestly, I believe you may use it a lot more now with the ARA stuff.

That wasn't to say I didn't use Melodyne often. I use it more than I'd like to admit to my clients ;) Just the little extra's they offer.
I must say that with ARA, I was able to tune a sketchy vocal very quickly last night. The note being heard as I'm changing it was helpful. When I was done I simply right click and "Bounce to clip" and I'm done. X1 required a bit of a process to use Melodyne. This will save me a bunch of time.

I too was concerned when I upgraded to X3 since I already had Melodyne Editor 2.1.1 . But the install went without a hitch and my Melodyne was not affected.

Since I was a build behind, my version of Melodyne was conveniently auto-updated when installing X3. Gotta love that.
