Is nForce4 still sucking compared to nForce3?

I heard of problems with nForce4 mboards compared to the nForce3 boards. Has it been sussed out?

If you use a TOO HEAVY grafic card issues may arise.
If you use a UAD1 the system becomes unworkable (choppy audio).

Asus A8V (via k800(pro) chipset) is good
    nforce 3 is good
    Intel 955/975 is good.

As only Apogee has released PCI-E audiocards, the Asus A8V is great (PCI only).

I use Bagend speakers. You should hear em too.

I have an ABIT KN8 w/ nforce 4 w/ an ATI X300 256 MB pci express video card. I'm using Sonar HS 4 and I haven't had any problems. I used to have an issue with Sonar HS 4 hanging after exit but it seems to be cleared up since I applied the SP2 hotfix and the DEP tweak. But I rarely record more than 2 inputs at once so I can't say if it's okay recording 8 or 10 tracks at a time or not. So far I'm really happy with the performance of my system though.

I'm having good success with a GigaByte GA-K8U-939 with the ULi 1689 chipset and an AMD 64x2 3800 dual core processor. I am running Sonar, Nuendo, Pro Tools LE, and my UAD1 with no problems so far.

    AMD Athlon 64x2 4800, Gigabyte GA-K8U-939, 2Gig Corsair DDR400 RAM, RME HDSP9652, Yamaha 01V96, 2xUAD-1, Sonar 6PE

The Uli 1689 is an excellent choice for a dual-core system.
    No chipset fan...
    Great performance...
    Multiple UAD1s run perfect...

Haven't tried the TC Powercore... but I suspect it would work fine.

Jim, would you take a look at my post in the Gear forum? I really value your opinion on it's topic.
