Is the Garritan Pocket Orchestra the same in Dimension Pro and in Dimension LE?

Is the Garritan Pocket Orchestra the same in Dimension Pro and in Dimension LE?

Hiya,

I've been wrestling with an old non-Cakewalk synth but am giving up because of timing problems. So I've decided I can probably use Dimension LE or Dimension Pro for my project.  I'm using X1.

Can anyone tell me whether the Garritan Pocket Orchestra included in the Dimension LE (which is included with the X1) is exactly the same as the Garritan Pocket Orchestra included in the Dimension Pro?  It's not clear from the marketing blurb. Basically, if I upgrade to Dimension Pro will I get a wider range of sounds from the Garritan Pocket Orchestra part?

    I didn't know that the GPO was included in the LE version. If it is included i'd imagine it's not the full library as there's no mention of GPO in the information about Dimension LE, but it is mentioned in the information about Dim Pro.

    For what it's worth, i wouldn't upgrade to Dim Pro just for GPO, but it's worth upgrading to for everything else you get that's not in the LE version. Same as Rapture. If you can afford it, get the Rapture and Dim Pro bundle.

    I think I'll get Dimension Pro;  I'll probably want to upgrade somewhere down the line, so why not now.  I don't think I'll ever need the Rapture stuff particularly, so I'll pass on that.

    I have Sonar 8.5, which I've upgraded to X1, and they both seem to have LE versions of both Dimension and Rapture built into them.  The Dimension LE in Sonar 8.5 includes Garritan P O, and the Dimension LE in X1 also includes Garritan P O.

    In case anyone's interested, I have now purchased Dimension Pro, and the Garritan Pocket Orchestra seems to be the same in both the Dimension Pro and the Dimension LE, that is, the number and kind of instruments in the GPO section of the 2 instruments is exactly the same.

    But of course there's a lot more sound-sculpting possible in Dimension Pro than in Dimension LE.  (EQ and FX and probably a bunch of other things I haven't discovered yet).

    And there are waaaaay waaaaay waaaaay more non-GPO instruments in the Dimension Pro.

    I had this same question as I'm pondering the upgrade from Dimension LEfrom Pro.  So the Garritan Pocket Orchestra section in LE is as complete as that included in Pro?  I'm looking for more orchestral programs though.  Are there many orchestral patches in Dimension Pro outside of the GPO bank that would make upgrading to Pro a good idea?

    X1 Producer should have included DimPro.

    I had Dimension LE, and then bought Dimension Pro. The Garrison sounds are exactly the same in both versions of Dimension.

    The Garritan library in Dim Pro is very scaled down. Very bare bones. If you are looking for a great sample library at a great price, get the full version GPO4.
