Is the original Sonar 8 disc required to install Sonar X1 (purchased as upgrade)?

Is the original Sonar 8 disc required to install Sonar X1 (purchased as upgrade)?

Or can I just install with the X1 file I downloaded? Is there a difference between it and a full version once the purchase has been made?

Windows 7 64 bit
Cakewalk Sonar X2 Producer
Cakewalk A-500PRO MIDI controller

    You don't need the original Sonar 8 DVD when installing X1, even if purchased as an upgrade.
