Is there ANY software that does this??

I am looking for a piece of software that can strip either the drums, vocal, or guitar parts out of a song in mp3 format and save that part as it's own mp3 file. Is there software that can do this? Basically what I want to do is to use the GNX4 to play JUST the drum track of a song I like while I play the guitar part over it.

Can this be done? Sorry, i'm new at recording......

No, it can't be done. However, if you're looking for drum tracks, what you could do is get a hold of the Guitar Pro demo (tabbing software, Google it) and head over to MySongBook, and check and see if the song you want is there. Load it in Guitar Pro, and solo the drum track.

No idea. But I've been wondering if there is a market for DVD-Audio where songs come in multitrack format and are mixed by your surround sound system with a chip that reads a mix-def file off your DVD. That would open up lots of possibilities for samplers, listeners, djs and people like me who don't like hi-hats in jazz music, so I could turn them off.

Maybe look for a midi version of the song you want to play over, then erradicate the portions you don't need.
