Is there a simple way to change speed and pitch together on a clip in Platinum?

I've searched forums and the web, and can't find a SIMPLE way to cut the speed and pitch of a clip. I just want to make it 4 times slower and 4 times lower. You know, some simple way like Anytune Pro does...I really don't want to do math and go through a bunch of steps. Thanks.

If you want to change pitch and timing simultaneously, like varispeed tape, there's a simple solution that uses the Loop Construction view (although it has nothing to do with constructing a loop).

A clip ?
Very important is: What kind of clip ? Audio or midi ?
Midi is simple, Audio takes a little more effort.

This shows how much Craig Anderton knows and I don't! Thanks, Craig. I pretty much had to look up every process, but finally got stuck at "monitoring the premix". I assume this means selecting an output from the premix as the input to the new track? If so, I can't seem to get a signal from any of the selections. Thanks for the help.

I needed to take a song's ending and have it slow down like a turntable lost its power. If you happen to have Kontakt, this is what I did. I loaded the song into Kontakt, played the song (holding down a key on the keyboard), and at the end used the pitch wheel on my midi controller to bend and slow down the song. Crazy I know, but it worked!

Which of the tips in the article are you following, and what exactly do you want to do with the clip? Is it part of the project, or a two-track final mix? I need to know about more about what you're trying to do.

Hi,one would think after 6 years(computers and SONAR) along with Komplete 9 (since about 11 months after it's release) I would know this, but don't you have to load an instrument into Kontakt? I had no idea one could load .wav files straight into Kontakt?

PS: Eddie Yates please come back and provide Mr Anderton with the details.Having someone like Craig willing to help you is HUGE,I don't know about the rest of us,but not answering The SONAR GURU is kind of rude, unless like me my w540 wouldn't even boot into W7(for 3 days),which made using the internet fairly impossible.
Thank You

I wish it was simple in Sonar but I've always used Reaper - double click the clip, input value, click okay.  It really should be this simple.

I use varispeed primarily for mastering, key changes, and commercials/narration to fit time. The procedure is really not that onerous:

Double-click the clip.
Choose Clip > Stretch On/Off, then double-click the Threshold slider.
Input amount of shift.
Save.

Thanks Craig, TBH I haven't given your Tut a try but will.  I've just had Reaper for so long, it has become a quick-n-dirty tool in my box when I need to transpose with or without affecting tempo among other things.  Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever tracked a full song with it lol!  It's just a darn good and handy DAW for the price.

I would love to see sonar expand on varispeed. using just 1 knob and an expert menu (for detailed work).
Speeding up and slowing down with only 1 track in Sonar isn't really that hard, but when you have to change 30 audio tracks it becomes a bit more pain staking.

Agreed, that's why I use varispeed mostly as a substitute for what I used to do with 2-track tape varispeed. Lately for vocals I've gotten into using varispeed to change formants, then SONAR's time-stretching to restore timing.
