Is there a trick to split chord voicing into various track/midi channel ?

Something similar can be done with a Midi Fx plugin Split-Poly from here:

I use it to experiment with voices for horns.
It send the parts on different midi channels, not exactly what you asked for.

Or you could modify a CAL script that splits drumtracks to instruments on different midi tracks.

This CAL script is kind of just for drums - it merely splits notes to seperate tracks, great for drums because each drum sound is triggered by a different note - but not so great for instruments unless they each play only one note!

Well, Sir, modify means modify. So extending each split to a condition with more than one note overlapping(or two or three) to split you are basically there. So as a scelleton I think it's a start.

Or you might settle for that each note overlapping gets another midi channel. Many ways to do it.

Don't know where the separate CAL forum went, there were some really helpful people there.

If you can make this work, let me know because it would be a great way to create stereo spreads for guitars (like hex outputs).

I always do it the manual way; draw it in originally as intended then duplicate the clip for each track. Then delete the voicings you don't want on each track. Slower but gives you control of exactly what your doing.

How the heck do you make it work? I placed the plugin on a midi track with chords, and there doesn't seem to be a way to execute the plugin and make it do anything?
