Is there a way to delete clips w/o deleting it's automation?

I'm working on a project that requires me to replace the clips with updated ones and I don't want to lose the envelopes. I can't figure out how to do it. Every time I delete a clip, it's envelope goes with it. Any experts out there?

I'm not certain, but you might try un-selecting the option "select envelopes with clips" and see if that works...

...or maybe if copy/paste special has a cut equivalent it may have more options?

Keni,
You da MAN!
Unselecting "Select envelopes with clips" works perfectly.
Thanks!

Supplementary question....how can you modify clips (for example lengthen or shorten, or edit individual clip gain etc) when there are envelopes (say, volume) in place?
