Is there a way to make the Lyrics View open like in earlier versions?

I'm not sure exactly how to explain this.

The Cakewalk and Sonar Lyrics View used to open and function in a similar way to other views, such as Track or Console. If a lyrics view window was open, for example, if one clicked on the Windows menu, to see what windows are open, the lyrics view would be listed there, and one could change to it that way.

In Sonar Version 8 (I forget in which version this change occurred), the Lyrics View does not open as a normal window like that, similar to other view windows. It opens instead more like a softsynth property window.

What was the reason for that change? Does anyone find any advantage in the new way that the Lyrics View works? If so, what is the advantage?

I still prefer the old way. Is there some kind of tweak or setting, to get back the old kind of Lyrics View?

Wouldn't a key binding such as you describe, function the same as choosing "Lyrics View" in the View menu? In other words, open a new Lyric window for the selected MIDI track? (Whereas, what I mean, was changing focus to a lyric window already open?)

Do you know the reason for the change I mentioned, where a Lyrics View does not function like other views in Sonar 8, where it did in earlier versions? (Not sure when it changed, perhaps in v7.)

Any way to change the settings, or .ini file, or registry, to get back the other type of lyric view window?
