Is there a way to map remote midi to Insert Marker?

I would like to map a pedal on my Behringer FCB to create a marker when I tap it. I can't figure out how to remote control items like this - or transport items.

Am I missing something?

Are you running the FCB with Mackie control or ACT ?
If its MC. open the control preference and map the pedal to marker.
You can use the keyboard shortcut M as well.

Hi Chuck,

I run the Behringer into the Midi 2 port on the Mackie, but I don't know how to have it actually run anything on the Mackie - can you elaborate on that?

EDIT: Hmm, are you referring to just on/off switches that run as foot switches with the Mackie? If so, that's not what this is - it's a full Midi controller.

OK, I've used ACT to get things 99% there. However, I cannot map button 8 for some reason. When I midi map it puts the word Off in the map field as shown here:

I've verified that my controller is sending a simple CC message and I've even tried to use a different message.

Any ideas?

Sorry I lost you there, What Mackie ? In your OP you said you had a Behringer FCB.
I was thinking BCF my bad
Might have helped had you mentioned it was a FCB"1010". but all good regardless.

"Off" is not from the mapping, but from the parameter values. So "RecArmSlctdTrck" "Off" means focused track is NOT armed.

Do you try to map hardware button? Make sure that in case it sends something on release, it sends zero. Otherwise Controller can interpret that as yet another press.
