Is there a way to save & assign your custom Screensets?

I noticed every project I open in X2 from 8.5 has different screensets.  I started a new project and they are different still.?   I see how they can be useful but need to set up custom settings that can be saved in a blank template for new projects, & imported into old ones.

I am still trying to figure out all the little quirks of X2, Some projects in Track view display the I/O for each track... others don't?

I have one project that the Audio is interrupted for a second while going from one screenset to another during playback?  This doesn't seem to happen in any others.

I want to set up my screensets something like this:
1. Only the Track View
2. Console view
3. A combination of the 2 with lower part as CV, top as TV, maybe my synth rack to one side etc.
4. A set up with my midi tracks on top (showing one at a time), and PRV below it.

And I want to get the transport docked at the bottom in the same place for all of them.   This jumping around crap needs to go if I am going to adapt my work flow to our new fangled X2 platform!!!

Any advice is of course appreciated.
Thank you!

As Mystic38 has pointed out a template is the best way to start from scratch.

While I'm waiting for my "Screenset Library" feature request...... I have my own system.

Once you have screensets set up save the file as an empty project, I have several with various different screensets in them.

When you want to use those screensets in an existing project load the project as a second one though you may need to deselect "Allow only one project open at a time" found in Prefs-->File-->Advanced.

In the target project you can then use "Import screensets from....." found in either the screenset module or the menu.

If you want to keep some of the existing screensets rather than import all of them lock the ones you want to keep and they won't be imported.

    HTH.

    Thanks for those tips Karl...

I was just wondering why there's an import screensets, but no export! I think this feature needs to be "finished" and a typical file format to export as well as import put in place...

No worries I've just re-read my post and I should make it clear that the screensets in the target project should be locked and they won't be overwritten rather than lock the screensets in the "Importing from" project.

Hope that's a little clearer now.

    Good Job... Good Tip(s)...

This will work (tho clumsy) until they add file support for import/export...

I have found it worthwhile to use the control bar screensets function while changing 1-9 on the keyboard to common functions. Speeds up productivity.
