Is there a way to stop a BounceToClip render once it's started?

I've been waiting for ages and I realise I had all clips selected and I don't want that.

I have every clip audiosnapped as I am changing the tempo and I want to save the file as a bundle to send into CW to help out with a problem report so need to render each clip seperately before I save as a bundle.......so I need to stop the current render as I could be waiting for up to 40 minutes (that's how long it took to export a mix coz it had to render each audiosnapped clip then mix...)

Yes. In the box in the control bar that normally displays time, you'll see a progress bar during any bouncing / freezing / exporting processes. Click the little X to the right of the progress bar to stop any of these processes.

try clicking to the area to the right of the progress bar. There should be an X-kind of symbol there but It doesn't alwaty show up. Clicking on the empty area to the right usually does the trick. At least for other bounces. I haven't tried the exact scenario you describe.

I can't see what you are talking about [ I still have cursor spinning round and round - so it is still processing ]:

Cursor spinning round? To be honest, it's probably crashed if you've got that. You should have a progress bar in the pale blue box at the top.

EDIT: correction: you would get the spinning cursor anyway, but the absence of the progress bar is weird.

    Nope I don't think it's crashed.

When I did the export mix the cursor spun round (with no progress bar) for around 40 minutes, then completed the mix and the clock reappeared and the cursor became an arrow again.

This is behaving exactly the same ( coz basically it is doing exactly the same - bouncing all clips)

The escape key does the job.   It will come up with a dialogue box asking if you want to keep what has been done to that point.

Wow, that's the weirdes thing Twigman. First of all, the time it takes is ridiculous and the progress bar should come up with the abillity to cancel the bounce. I've never seen anything like what you describe tho.

Here's a tip that I saw Noel wrote somewhere; close all open plug in windows, even in the multidock and try your bounce again. I tried it and it's a world of difference on my system.

Now rendering each clip separately....each clip is 5 minutes long and each clip is taking about 5 minutes to render - it's like it's doing it in real time...there are 11 clips to render.....it's going to be a long night.
    I have no plugs open.
I have no plugs in the multidock.

It's 01.30 am and my kids will be jumping on my head by 6.00am

I think I should leave it til tomorrow.

In Preferences - Audio - Configuration file    what are your "BounceBufSizeMsec" set to?   If it is set to "0" then try a setting of 100.   If it is not "0" then try setting it to "0".  (Number zero).  The 0 setting is what works best for me but a number from between 0 and 350 may work better in some case.

Ah, I see. Well, still a bit slow. We have very simmilar setups so weird that it's such a difference. a 5 minute clip renders in less than a minute here.

well, it's 2:30am here and I have no kids who will jump on my head tomorrow. Just a keyboard player getting married so I should crash too

    Good luck! and good night

Audiosnap bounces are slow. Obviously, for the example you describe, this isn't an option, but this is why I always do it as I go along, rather than leave the AS "live" and deal with it on export.

    Yeah

I get that...still I've only got 5 more clips (=25minutes) to go - may as well do the extra half hour

I've not got to do that. I know it's an acknowledged bug, but it's not a universal problem.

Not sure what it's got to do with the topic, mind you.
