Auto-attack and release?
I don't remember seeing that type of feature advertised. You might look for a "look ahead" feature that might make it a little better about guessing what you want it to do. Now days I don't even use a compressor on tracks I just do the work with the clip gain envelope and get it just like I want it. It doesn't seem to matter how smart the compressor is it gets some part of the track wrong.
By the way what would it base it's automatic setting on ? Seems like it would have to look ahead to make any decision about how to set it for the next few hits.

''Auto-attack and release settings (where available) also produce good results on bass guitar as they can adapt to the changing dynamics of different playing styles within the same song.''
