Windows XP is just as safe on the internet as any computer. You've all been duped into believing you are not safe anymore unless MS or some $200 anti virus is protecting you.
My netbook is my little travel tablet and it's been all over the place.  I use it for web browsing and checking my e mails. And there are no anti virus programs that will run on XP any more so mine is a siting duck so to speak. I'm just not an idiot about how I browse. In a way Google chrome sort of protect me.

Yes there are!  Check out Avast Free, it still runs on XP SP3...

This chart shows how Avast compares to other big AV names in this Real World Performance Test:

Of course this test setup was using Windows 10, but the AV protection should be the same...

Thanks, I might just do that, I used Avast for years until the windows supplied ones came along. I've never used heavy duty AV and so far never had a bug. But I also stopped downloading torrents and whatnot.

Pretty sure I still have X2 and X1 installed and running on an XP machine...
Worked on that PC for ages, starting on Sonar 6 and I think it was X3 the one that moved me to W7, before XP was making it.

Talk about old stock, LOL!  Studio One v3 was released in May 2015, so this has been sitting on some warehouse shelf for at least 2 1/2 years!

Be aware that S1v2 Producer is the middle version (not the flagship Professional) and does not have the Project/ Mastering Page.  Otherwise it has the same features.  Of course, you can always upgrade to v3 Pro; I did this exact upgrade recently for $84 (Audiodeluxe).

Still, this is a good deal if you want S1v2 - especially with the Groove3 pass.

Also, XP software works in Windows 10. There is a compatability mode - I'm still using old software from pre 2000 with few bugs.

I just got a new pc and am reinstalling all my versions with updates from 8 to X3. Personally, I really like 8.5 producer (on my old, now defunct win 7) as I'm not a power user, just singer songwriter :)

But I appreciate the info on compatibility mode, I did not know that, I have an old pc running XP (offline) and I use it solely for cakewalk pyro which is full  featured in XP. I'm told not all the features work in newer OS, so I just kept that pc in the corner of the house for when I want to use it, it's great. Now maybe I'll try to load it on my new win 10 pc...
