Is there not a Mixdown Buss to a Stem option?
As there is no Return routing, I want to mixdown a guitar track to a "mixed down" track/stem, which would include a print of the Guitar Rig LE and Echoboy Fx's which are in my "Guitar Rack" Buss, to this Mix Down Track. I would assume this is a fairly regular workflow process - mixdown to a stem including all effects. As far as I can see, I have to 1) set the Guitar Rack Buss to Solo 2) export the audio file to Wave 3) locate the exported file 4) Insert an Audio Track 5) Import/Drag the resulting file into this Inserted Track 6) direct the Audio Out of this track to hit the Master 7) un-solo the Lead Buss 8) Mute the original Guitar track Eight steps! Is there a better way?

Just select all tracks assigned to the bus, bounce to a new track with Bus FX enabled, and mute the bus. Bouncing and exporting work the same way, except you can't select buses for bouncing; you have to select the tracks that feed them. EDIT: Oops. Forgot you get the same dialog for Bounce to Tracks that you get for Export, so you can select a bus as a source, which makes it even easier.

If I understand correctly what you're trying to do then all you need do is select your guitar buss in the export dialogue to get a "print" of the guitars. To insert this into your project just drag/drop it onto some blank space in the track view. A new track will be created automatically. or if you're trying to render the fx on your guitar track to audio then simply select all the clips you want included, right click and "bounce to track". This will create a new track with the rendered audio in it.

Karyn If I understand correctly what you're trying to do then all you need do is select your guitar buss in the export dialogue to get a "print" of the guitars. Thanks for the reply... Now I remember from v8, that there is no way to un-highlight "ALL" in the Source Buses/Tracks dialog box - so if I have 5 buses showing (which I do) in the dialog box, I have to click 4 times to un-highlight all but the Guitar Buss entry - HOWEVER, this is a significant improvement over v8x in that only the buses involved with the selected audio track are displayed - in v8x, all buses were displayed (whether or not they were implied). Karyn To insert this into your project just drag/drop it onto some blank space in the track view. A new track will be created automatically. Thanks, this is a good one I missed! Karyn or if you're trying to render the fx on your guitar track to audio... I am only trying to include the Fx that are on a Bus.

brundlefly ...Bounce to Tracks Couldn't get this to print the Fx that are on the Guitar Rack Bus (which feeds the Master)...all the boxes in the Dialog window are checked in the Bounce To Tracks. As above, I am only trying to include the Fx that are on a Bus, plus the original track.

I really thought there would be something like "Render tracks to stem tracks (and mute originals)" - one click and it's done!

create new track, name it so the wave file has a reasonalble name make sure all tracks/buses go to the Master Mix bus, which goes to the MAIN OUT bus, which has NO effects. do NOT mute any buses select the clips to mix (selecting tracks will set the length of the new clip to the longest track, even if muted/archived) Bounce to tracks select the MASTER MIX bus, NOT the MAIN OUT bus Send it to the new track When done, solo the new track, which is sent to the MAIN OUT bus If not good Control-Z deletes the clip from the disk Repeat until happy. The MAIN OUT bus is for hardware out, and adjustment, only "effects" are voxengo span, meters, panipulator. NO compression, reverb,... MASTER MIX is for final effects and volume

Is there a better way? Yes there is 1 Ctrl+a (to select all, Trust me ) 2 Choose Bounce to Tracks (under Tracks/Bounce to Tracks, I have a keybinding set up for this, I do this alot) 3 Under "Source Category" choose Busses 4 Uncheck all of the busses you don't want 5 Press enter so with my keybound "Bounce to tracks" my steps are 1 Ctrl+a -select all 2 Alt+q - Bounce to Tracks 3 uncheck busses I don't want 4 Press Enter HTH Tom
