Is there something I'm missing?

Does anyone know why we are not allowed to delete any of the default content location presets in the browser? Deleting one that you've created works just fine but when you select one of the default ones, the Delete button is disabled. I guess its not a big deal but I really don't care about seeing "Sample Content" in my dropdown menu. I can't understand why that would be prohibited since all "content location presets" are are folder(directory) shortcuts. Jeeezzzz! You can't even rename them.
 
Am I missing something here? There must be something I'm doing wrong.
