Is there still a groove clip loop "repetitions" menu?

I can get loops into my track and stretch them out manually, but I can't find the old familiar command where we could type in a number and it would repeat the loop that many times.

Is that feature still there? I've look and just don't see it any where.

Thanks.

I don't remember that feature... however, you can change the length of the clip by typing in a number. Select the clip, then click the Clips tab at the top of the Inspector. Under Properties, you can type in a new number for the Length parameter, which is the number of beats in the entire clip. So if each repeated part is 4 beats and want 4 measures, you would type in 16:000 (be sure to include the colon and three zeros).

The one bug I may have found Scott is when working with drum loops, in paticular Drums on Demand. I spent a good bit of time yesterday emailing Jim and Drums on Demand, and then on the phone. Drums on Demand loops will work if I use Sonar X1 in 32 bit but not 64. I can do a project in 32 and freeze the drum track and it will open and play fine in 64 bit, but that is the only way I can make it work.
I also got one of the loop features, maybe it was called loop properties (I'll check) and some of the features would not work. There are several features that I used to use in some of the older programs that I can't find or either can't get to work in X1. But some of that depends if I am using x64 or x86.
Thanks for the info, I'll see if I can find that.

I dont know if this helps.. But highlight the clip press Cntrl C and hit either Cntrl Alt V or right click and hit paste special. then it gives you a dialog box where you can enter how many time repetitions you want what track to start on and starting time ect.

oh Btw when you drag your loops in the TV, if your able to drag them out then there in a groove clip format. I would either stretch them out using the groove clip method or what I been doing lately to save memory cause on my system I notice too many groove clips sucks up alot of memory, so I now right click the groove clip and bounce it to clips, then I use the Cntrl C and Cntl Alt V to duplicate the clips a 100 times then I'll arrange ..

Thank DJJ. That pulled up the screen I was looking for. I was just hitting Ctrl V to paste and it wasn't until I did a right click to "paste special" that I saw the option to type in how many repitions I wanted. That's what I was trying to do.
    Thanks!

Ah ha... okay, I figured you were working with Groove clips and not regular clips. Sorry about that. It's just that when people say they're working with loops, my mind automatically goes to Groove clips.

Scott, the "Inspector" may be one of two things I've seen so far that appears to have  a bug. It really doesn't fully function for me. I can click things and nothing happens, and I can click other things and then what appears to be a mini screen pops up in a flash and then is gone before I can read it. I really can't get the Inspector to function enough to use it.
I also had trouble with Drums on Demand. I was on the phone to Jim about it yesterday, plus swapped a lot of emails with the Drums on Demand people.
I can open Sonar X1 x86 and I can use Drums on Demand. I can drag a loop over to a track and it works and plays fine. If I do that in X1 x 64 it sounds fine in the audition, but if I drag it over to a track it goes haywire when I play it. I let Jim listen, and then we did a track in x86 and re-opened it in x64. It went haywire again. Then we did the same thing but the next time did a track "freeze" and when I opened it in x64 it played fine. Drums on Demand plays fine in Pro Tools 9, and I believe that is a 32 bit system just like Sonar X1 x86 is a 32 bit system. Beta Monkey plays fine in x64 or x86, and so does Precision Drummer and RAW drums. These are just CD's I've bought and collected over the years, but it was very revealing that eveything played but Drums on Demand in x64.
Jim and the DoD people can better explain the theory and reasons for this, but I'm not a techie that really understands how a lot of the DAW functions work, and why they do. Suffice it to say, after we'd tried all these tests, we all believed this is a bug in Sonar X1 x64 (64 bit.)
I feel the same about the Inspector feature. It's just not right. Some things work, most things don't, and when I click certain features it tries to open a menu but it just flashes open and closed in a split second, so fast, it just looks like a white blink.
I can work around all this, but I do hope any X1 update will address these two issues.
    Don
EDIT: And despite this, I still think X1 is by far the best of all the recorders.
